Removal requests, prescreen opt-outs

Data Brokers

500+ brokers are registered in California alone. Opt-outs work but brokers re-add you every 6–12 months. This list starts with the highest-leverage requests: credit-bureau prescreen plus the top-tier aggregators whose data feeds everything downstream. Opting out of top-tier aggregators also reduces the accuracy of inferred attributes — income level, political lean, life events — that feed micro-targeting campaigns.

  • Opt out of credit-bureau prescreen (highest leverage)

    Send LetterHigh

A single form covers Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, and Innovis — the 'credit header' data that feeds LexisNexis Risk, Thomson Reuters CLEAR, and downstream people-search brokers. Five-year opt-out via web; permanent via mail.

  • Opt out of Acxiom

    Send LetterHigh

Acxiom holds ~10,000 attributes on ~2.6 billion people globally. Opting out here stops Acxiom's marketing data product; LiveRamp (the spun-off identity-resolution business) is a separate opt-out below.

  • Opt out of LexisNexis Risk Solutions

    Send LetterHigh

LexisNexis Risk is a RELX division contributing ~35% of RELX's $9.4B annual revenue. Its Accurint product is sold to law enforcement and skip-tracers. SSN and driver's license are NOT required to opt out.

  • Opt out of PeopleConnect (covers 6+ sites at once)

    Send LetterMedium

One request at PeopleConnect's suppression portal covers Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, USSearch, ZabaSearch, and Addresses.com — six people-search sites in one form.

  • Know the CA DELETE Act timeline

    ManualInfo

If you're a California resident, the DELETE Act creates a single deletion request that propagates to every registered broker. Registry is live since Jan 2026; broker deletion processing begins Aug 2026. A one-stop 'delete me from all brokers' button is coming — for California — later this year.
